SKB launches Military-Grade Removable Racks

ORANGE, CA – SKB Corporation, a leader in innovative case solutions for the Music and Pro Audio markets for 35 years has also developed innovative products for the worldwide Industrial and Military markets. Following the expansion of popular Industrial/military products such as the i-series injection molded case line and heavy duty, water proof shock racks, SKB Corporation announces the 3RR Removable Shock Rack case series.
The 3RR Removable Rack Series consists of seven sizes: 3U, 4U, 5U, 7U, 9U, 11U and 14U. The shell is rotationally molded of LMDP Linear Medium Density Polyethylene plastic which ensures industry leading strength and impact resistance. The 3RR Series meets or exceeds MIL-STD 810G tests which provides a very high level of confidence in the environmental worthiness and overall durability of the design. The 3RR Series is a compact design that is lighter weight and smaller than the traditional wood flight case.
The pièce de résistance is the unique removable rack cage. The rack can be completely removed for easy installation and testing of equipment. The rack cage slides into a shock frame that is secured by 8 elastomeric shock absorbers. The rack cage has two low-profile locking latches that secures the cage and eliminates any movement during transport. The standard payload range is 40 to 150 lbs. and by adding additional shocks, cases can handle payloads up to 300 lbs. Rail to Rail depth is 24” with a 2” deep front lid and 5” deep rear lid. Two heavy-duty inline wheels are located on one end for easy maneuvering. Square hold rack rails to accommodate either #10-32 US standard, or 6mm international standard cage nuts. Other features include; molded in stacking ribs and lugs designed for stacking multiple cases (even on competitor’s cases); black powder-coated stainless steel hardware which are recessed for protection, 8 comfort grip spring loaded lift handles, automatic pressure relief valve, lid gaskets for added moisture protection, convenient lid hangars, and case coupling straps.
All 3RR sizes will be available, January 2012.
